Remember This streams on Spotify.
Super slick, radio-ready production, and razor-tight harmonies inside a framework of extra popped pop. That's what Radius delivers with its Jonas Brothers hit, Remember This.
Seven guys with pipes that could front any band recorded Remember This, so what's not to love? Even though this release is heavy on contemporary stylings and production, it is light on impact with its repetitive chorus, lack of tonal coloring variances, and artificial-sounding tuning/blend. It’s also an easier arrangement than a lot of similar groups are performing — a compact little bop, if you will, though I’m sure it works great live with those ringing chords. It'd also be great as an album-opener.
You can blame the monotonous source material for some of this, material that could be applied a few ways. If you check out the group’s music video, you'll see Radius chose to use these lyrics as an homage to their brotherhood of making music together by showing us their favorite memories. And now that the group is down to five members, I’m sure this video feels even more like a personal time capsule.
There’s incredible individual talent in this group, and there’s nothing wrong with putting out a light, upbeat single. There are better choices to showcase this group’s strengths, so keep your ears to Radius for the next offering.
