Who Would Have Dreamed is a religious song, which The Inversions from Cedarville University deliver with an air of wonder and admiration rather than blatant Bible-thumping. The Inversions perform this song with a shimmering, pure tone, and the soloist (who's uncredited on the song's Loudr page) has a bell-like quality to her voice that works beautifully here.
Well-delivered phrasing, swelling dynamics, and a gorgeous lead all work to make The Inversions' performance quite moving. It sounds like it could be the soundtrack to the morning after an all-night snowstorm, when everything looks stunning and calm and untouched, and the group's video for the song also captures that peaceful winter wonder.
Cedarville University is a Christian school, so it's no surprise that The Inversions perform some Christian music. The religious lyrics of Who Would Have Dreamed may give the song a limited appeal, but The Inversions' joyous tone and beautiful delivery can, at times, transcend the religious aspect of the song. The Inversions' repertoire doesn't appear to be strictly faith-based works, and their musicality and attention to tone and blend makes them a group to watch.
