I am currently a junior at Colgate University and have been a member of the co-ed Colgate Resolutions since the fall of 2006. I'm a German and Classics double-major who stumbled into the a cappella world after 5 years of singing only with friends and in the shower (but never with friends in the shower), and am now hooked. In just one semester with the Resolutions I've recorded a CD, done a show for 1000 people, and have gotten to know 25 new best-friends.
I love listening to a cappella, and am so grateful to be a member of what I've found to be a wonderfully friendly community. Forums like RARB allow me to compare what other groups are doing better or worse compared to my own group, and to hear some of the best and most talented singers I'd never find in the world of pop music.
As far as my life outside of the a cappella world, I am an avid tennis, squash, and racquetball player, as well as a golfer. I volunteer just off Colgate's campus, teaching elementary school students German in an after-school tutoring program. I founded a club for students of the classics this year, and will be traveling to Athens, Greece for three weeks in June and to Freiburg, Germany in 2008 to study. I love stand-up comedy and want to start performing soon. Until then, my Thursday nights are devoted to my obsession with the comedic genius "The Office," though nothing may ever match the brilliance that was "Arrested Development."
