Rebecca Christie

Rebecca Christie's RARB Bio

Music is my passion. I could no sooner leave behind music as leave behind breath. It goes with me everywhere I go and softens up this mortal coil. And it often makes me happier, too.

Having said that, I don't sing for a living, any more than I breathe for a living or drink water for profit. Rather, I write for a living, which is to music what cigarette smoking is to respiration. Without the latter, life would be short and unfulfilling (no kidding). And there are no exceptions, whereas not everyone has to write. But for those of us who do, quitting would be like cutting out a pack-a-day habit that has stood fast for 40 years.

Although no one can claim really to like the sensation of pulling hot smoke and tar into one's lungs, cigarettes also have been known to provide a sense of satisfaction, completion and short-term well-being. Other writers will see my point.
